Darrel Matsheke has rejoined Stellenbosch FC for a second spell with the club. The midfielder returns after previous stints with Pretoria Callies and Kruger United, and is set to wear the number 31 shirt.
He previously played for Stellenbosch during the 2023-24 season, making 12 appearances across all competitions. Matsheke scored the decisive penalty in the Carling Knockout final shootout victory over TS Galaxy that season, helping the club secure the trophy.
"It feels great to be back at Stellenbosch FC," Matsheke said. "It was unexpected, but I am really happy to be here."
He added that his goal is to build on his past contributions. "I want to pick up where I left off on the field and help the team compete for more."
Matsheke returns to a Stellenbosch side sitting ninth in the Premier Soccer League with six points from six matches. Their recent form shows one win, three draws and one loss from the last five games. The team's next fixture is away to Kruger United, Matsheke's former club, this weekend, where he is in line to make his debut.
