Stellenbosch FC's next opponents, Kaizer Chiefs, saw their reserve team produce a dramatic comeback win in the DStv Diski Challenge this weekend. The Chiefs' development side overturned a two-goal halftime deficit to beat Mamelodi Sundowns' Diski Team 4-2 at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday.

Stellenbosch, currently seventh in the Premier Soccer League with nine points, travel to face the fourth-placed Kaizer Chiefs senior team on 17 October. The result offers a glimpse into the depth and form within the Chiefs' youth system.

Mamelodi Sundowns took a commanding lead with two first-half goals from Simphiwe Mlondo. He scored in the 17th minute and again just before the break in the 41st. The Chiefs' response after halftime was immediate and emphatic. They pulled a goal back just two minutes into the second period and completed the turnaround with further strikes in the 67th and 75th minutes. A late penalty sealed the 4-2 victory.

Goal contributions came from Benjamin Eliyahu, Samkelo Msimango, Neo Bohloko and Kamogelo Malefo for the victorious Chiefs side.

The win keeps Kaizer Chiefs Reserves joint-top of the DStv Diski Challenge table with a perfect six points from two matches. They opened their campaign with a 3-2 win over Orlando Pirates' reserves. Their next fixture in the competition is away to Richards Bay on Saturday, 10 October.

For Stellenbosch supporters, the focus remains on the upcoming senior clash.
