Devin Titus, 25, has left Stellenbosch FC after a six-year spell to join Moroccan champions Maghreb Association Sportive de Fès (MAS Fes) for the 2026-27 season. He departed after MAS Fes activated his buy-out clause, leaving with 36 goals in 176 appearances, the club’s second-highest totals.
A Six-Year Journey
Titus made his professional debut with Stellenbosch in 2021 and quickly became a key figure. He scored in his final outing against Polokwane City last week, cementing his legacy with a 36-goal haul in 176 games. The move came after MAS Fes triggered the buy-out clause in his contract, securing his services ahead of the upcoming season.
Highlights of a Stellar Tenure
During his time at Stellenbosch, Titus won the Carling Knockout in 2023 and was named Player of the Tournament. He helped the club qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time and reach consecutive MTN8 finals. In 2023 he earned the club’s internal Young Player of the Season award, followed by the Players’ Player of the Season accolade in 2024 and the Golden Boot in 2025.
A memorable moment came in 2023 against Cape Town City. Down 2-0, Titus scored twice to secure a 3-2 home win, a result that lifted Stellenbosch up the league table and became a turning point in his career.
Leaving with Gratitude
In a farewell interview, Titus said, “It’s an emotional feeling for me to leave Stellenbosch FC. The team gave me the opportunity to become a professional footballer, and I will always be grateful.” He added that he was excited to join MAS Fes, “the Moroccan champions and one of the biggest clubs in Africa,” and that he looked forward to playing in the Champions League and testing himself at the highest level in African football.
He also reflected on his development pathway: “Starting with the reserves, winning the DDC and Next Gen, and then moving to the first team to win the Carling Knockout and play in the Confederation Cup, it was a great experience.” He praised the club’s values, the support of the town, community, and fans, and expressed a desire to return one day to give back to the youngsters and community.
