Former Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC defender Olisa Ndah is nearing a transfer to a Libyan club. The Nigerian international's move comes after a proposed switch to Mamelodi Sundowns collapsed.
Ndah, 28, mutually parted ways with Orlando Pirates midway through the 2025/26 campaign. He joined Stellenbosch FC as a free agent before leaving the Winelands club at the end of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season. His departure comes as Stellenbosch currently sit 11th in the Premier Soccer League, having taken four points from their opening four matches with a record of one win, one draw and two losses.
Mamelodi Sundowns were strongly linked with signing the experienced centre-back after his Stellenbosch exit. However, the deal fell apart due to registration problems. This left Ndah searching for a new club as the current season progressed. Stellenbosch's own defensive record this term shows six goals scored and six conceded, leaving them with a zero goal difference.
Agent Mike Makaab confirmed the new direction for his client. "Olisa Ndah is fit and ready for his new chapter to continue showcasing his talent," Makaab said. "So at the moment we are working on a deal with a Libyan club, which I can’t disclose now." The Nigerian defender built a solid reputation during his time at Orlando Pirates. He made 81 appearances across all competitions for the Buccaneers, scoring one goal. His contributions were key to the club's success, helping them secure three MTN8 titles and one Betway Premiership crown. Ndah was also part of numerous clean sheets during his spell in Soweto.
Persistent injuries have hampered his career at times, but his agent insists he is now fully fit. His stint at Stellenbosch FC last season provided a platform after his mid-season departure from Pirates.
